Plans to Connect Township Trails Available

Solebury Township's Parks and Recreation Master Plan has long envisioned a connected system of trails that is safe and respectful of the environment and our history. The missing link in the system -- a 0.3 mile connecting trail to link the Route 202 Cross County Trail and the 165 mile Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Trail -- is off the drawing board and ready for review.

You can download and read a description of the project here, and see the plan drawings here.

The Township has worked closely with federal, state and county officials to secure permits and funding for the project, including a $1.7 million grant from the state Department of Conservation and Natural resources, federal matching funds and private developer fees.

Board of Appeals Vacancy

Solebury Township is seeking a qualified volunteer to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Township Board of Appeals. The Board of Appeals rules on matters related to the Uniform Construction Code, and each board member must be familiar with building construction through training or experience.

In order to avoid conflicts of interest, members of the Board of Supervisors and township code administrators may not serve on the Board of Appeals, and board members may not vote or participate in any hearing where they have a personal, professional or financial interest.

A Solebury resident with architectural, engineering or construction experience would be a perfect fit for this vacancy, so long as he or she is not frequently engaged in construction in the Township. Members of the Board of Appeals serve at the pleasure of the Township Board of Supervisors.

Anyone interested in applying for this vacancy should forward a letter of interest and/or resume to the attention of Gretchen Rice, Assistant Manager, or email to soleburymanager@soleburytwp.org.
