RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE RECYCLING

In Solebury Township, resident and Homeowners Associations (HOA) contract directly with a licensed waste hauler to collect trash and recyclables.  Township residents should separate recyclable materials from any waste generated at their property. Recyclable materials should be placed in reusable receptacles provided by the resident's private waste hauler. 
Set forth below are general recycling guidelines.  It is important to be aware that each waste hauler has their own recycling guidelines. Residents should check with their waste hauler for their specific recycling guidelines. For your convenience, links for some waste haulers operating in the Township are provided below.

    RESIDENTIAL NON-CURBSIDE TOWNSHIP RECYCLING

    WOODY WASTE DROPOFF

    The Township Woody Waste Drop off program accepts tree trimmings, branches, brush and small logs.  No stumps of any kind are permitted to be dumped. No logs with a diameter (over 8 inches) will be accepted. Invasive weeds of any kind will not be accepted. See link for invasive list: Controlled Plants & Noxious Weeds.

    Only Solebury residents may drop off their woody waste to be mulched at the Township Public Works building which is located at 3092 Sugan Road, Solebury, PA 18963.  The drop off will be open on Wednesdays between the hours of 7:30am-2:00pm. Please be prepared to provide proof of Solebury Township residency if requested by an employee. Please note that landscapers or contractors working for residents are not permitted to drop off any woody waste of any kind.

    The drop off is not staffed, however please be mindful that the Public Works employees may be on the property and as such you may encounter equipment entering or exiting the area.  Public Works facility is under 24 hour video surveillance.

    LEAF WASTE

    As per Solebury Township Municipal Waste Collection and Transportation of Recyclables Ordinance (20-204), all residents of the Township shall separate leaf waste from all municipal waste generated at their property. Residents are encouraged to compost or contract with their waste hauler to arrange for pickup of leaf waste in paper biodegradable bags or reusable containers.

    Solebury Township is within the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) air basin, and, except in limited circumstances, the DEP prohibits burning within the air basin.  Air pollution from open burning may be detrimental to the health, comfort, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Solebury.

    MEDICATION DISPOSAL DROP-OFF

    To keep prescription drugs out of our water supply and away from children, there is a Drug Drop Box for unused or expired prescription medication located in the lobby of the Solebury Township Police Department. For more information click here.

    COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL, MUNICIPAL ESTABLISHMENTS RECYCLING

    Commercial, institutional and municipal establishments within the Township are required to separate recyclable materials from their solid waste. In addition to the items mentioned above for residents, common recyclable materials include high-grade office paper, aluminum, and corrugated paper. Recyclable material generated from community activities are also required to be separated, stored and collected by a private waste hauler. 

    The Township requires all commercial, institutional, and municipal establishments to annually provide written documentation and certification to the Township of the total number of tons of materials and the type of materials recycled. These reporting obligations may be satisfied by the establishments requiring their waste hauler to provide such documentation and certification directly to the Township.
