Car Battery Recycling Program

Solebury Township now offers a car battery recycling program for residents.

Why Recycle Car Batteries?

Car batteries contain lead and other hazardous materials that can harm the environment if not handled properly. Recycling helps keep these materials out of the waste stream while allowing valuable components to be safely recovered and reused.

Program Details & Requirements

All automotive batteries will be accepted at the Public Works Department by appointment only beginning April 15, 2026. Residents must schedule a date and time in advance prior to dropping off a battery.

Batteries must be intact at the time of delivery. Any battery that is cracked, damaged, or leaking will be refused.

How to Participate

• Schedule a drop-off appointment by contacting Public Works
  (Appointment hours are between 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
• Bring your battery to the Public Works facility at your scheduled time
• Batteries will be stored safely and recycled by a certified recycler
