Frequently Asked Questions

Some frequently asked questions about homeowners' water and sewage service.

What water authority supplies my water?
If you reside along the Route 202 corridor north of Aquetong Road, your monthly invoice will indicate which authority is supplying your water. All sewage removal is managed by Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, unless a homeowner has a private system.
How do I know if the aquifer under our property has enough water to supply my needs?
For water authority customers, the authority monitors the flow of water from their wells, which are in Solebury Township or New Hope Borough.
I would like to drill a new well or deepen an existing well. What do I need to know?
It is suggested that a professional well contractor should be up to date on the County and Township ordinances. The Township ordinances can be found in the Municipal Code, Water, Chapter 26. Wells specifically start at Ordinance 216 of May 18, 2004, Article II.
I have a septic tank. What are my responsibilities to the municipality?
Septic tanks and cesspools must be pumped clean at least once every three years and a report from a licensed plumber or hauler submitted by the resident to the township administrator. Also see the FAQ in our Sewage Management Program.
