Chief of Police

Dominick P. Bellizzie became Solebury Township's Chief of Police on June 1, 2006. Chief Bellizzie brings varied experience in all aspects of special patrol, investigations, administration and narcotics. Chief Bellizzie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and has had extensive police training, including the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Chief Bellizzie was selected by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to travel abroad to the Ukraine to provide training in police methods.

Chief Bellizzie was previously the Chief of Police for the City of Coatesville in Chester County, Pennsylvania. In addition, Chief Bellizzie previously acted as Commanding Officer for the Narcotics Intelligence and Investigative Unit for the City of Philadelphia, responsible for coordination of all federal, state and local task forces including DEA, FBI, Customs and BNI. Chief Bellizzie has also had direct command and responsibilities for the Forfeiture Unit, Narcotics Computer Information Unit, Technical Services Unit and Intensive Drug Investigative Squad in the City of Philadelphia.

Narcotics Unit

The Narcotics Unit is committed to fighting the influx of drugs into our community. We have an officer assigned to the District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force.

M.I.R.T

The Solebury Township Police Department has three officers assigned to the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team. These members respond to other parts of the county when a need arises for increased manpower due to area emergencies such as floods, large gatherings and / or storms events.

C.B.S.R.T.

The Solebury Township Police Department is a member of the Central Bucks Special Response Team. This team responds to hostage or barricade type situations.

Community Policing

The Solebury Township Police Department is committed to the education of Solebury Township residents regarding crime prevention, home safety and and identity theft protection.

Youth Aid Panel

The Youth Aid Panel of Solebury Township is committed to giving community youthful offenders a second chance by providing needed counseling, therapy, or other referrals, thereby eliminating the creation of a police record for a first-time offense.

Truck Inspection Unit

The Solebury Township Police Department has a certified commercial vehicle inspection officer who is assigned throughout the Township on a regular basis to conduct commercial vehicle inspections. These inspections are conducted to ensure the operating safety of the vehicles and to reduce commercial vehicle accidents in the Township.

Bike Patrol Unit

The Solebury Township Police Department has two officers trained and assigned to the Bike Patrol Unit. These officers patrol our parks and sports fields, our neighborhoods, business areas and the tow path along the river.

K-9 Unit

The Solebury Township Police K-9 Unit was established in 2019 with donations from local businesses and Solebury Township residents as well as other community members. From the initial donations K-9 Blitz was purchased and paired with Officer Rice. Both Blitz and Officer Rice have attended extensive training at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center.
