State Forester Briefs EAC on Dangerous Pests

Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture briefed the Solebury Township Environmental Advisory Council on the threats posed by several agricultural and horticultural pests in our region. The briefing, at the October 9, 2018 EAC meeting, covered Spotted Lanternfly, Emerald Ash Borer and Thousand Cankers Disease.

These pests are especially harmful to Solebury's farming community and some, like the Emerald Ash Borer, can cause significant hazards on residential property.

To help residents stay up-to-date on these pests, quarantine rules and action they can take to help control the threat, we are posting the latest information at soleburytwp.org/pests, a dedicated page on the Township website to serve as an information clearinghouse for agricultural and horticultural pests affecting our area.

Attached below are two presentations from the EAC meeting, on Emerald Ash Borer and Thousand Cankers Disease.
