Description of Programs
In addition to active recreation programs, the Parks and Recreation Department provides CPR/AED training to interested residents. CPR/AED machines are housed at both Pat Livezey Park and Laurel Park. Baseball, soccer and basketball coaches are trained in their use.
Partnerships and volunteerism are part of Solebury's fabric. Solebury Township Parks and Recreation partnered with a small energetic volunteer group known as TRACK 2002 as promoters and supporters of a grass roots community effort resulting in construction of a community sports facility, including a tract with an all-sport field, suitable for hockey, soccer and special events. The newly construction Sports Complex at the New Hope-Solebury Middle-High School complex is evidence of that intangible quality that characterizes Solebury's community.
The Parks and Recreation Summer Adventure Camp operates Monday to Friday for children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade. Weekly sessions run for 6 weeks from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. beginning the first full week of July and ending in mid August. Camp activities are based at Pat Livezey Park and include, sports programs, theme weeks, arts & crafts, music, science programs, water adventures (weather permitting), action karate classes and other special events and activities designed for young children.
Special Annual Events include:
