Almost half of home energy consumption goes toward heating and water heating -- more than any other appliance or fixture. Right now, Pennsylvania is offering an incentive for residents to upgrade heating equipment for energy cost savings. Qualifying products will be non-electric ENERGY STAR-qualified water heaters, furnaces, and boilers.
In addition, there are many Federal tax credits available (up to 30%) on qualifying energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, roofs, water heaters, windows, doors and solar applications. If you're looking to purchase a big-ticket appliance, this may be a good time.
