Solebury, a natural choice.

Help Protect Solebury's Natural Resources

Solebury Township's watershed associations are hoping you have a half-hour to spare every other week to help them study the quality of the Township's streams. It's a great opportunity to learn about our local ecosystem, meet your neighbors and be part of an important program to protect and preserve the Township's natural beauty.

It's difficult to overstate the importance of water quality to Solebury's way of life — most residents rely on groundwater wells for their drinking water; the streams, creeks and ponds are woven through the Solebury landscape, and the health of our watersheds is the key to ecological sustainability in the township.

As part of Solebury's long-range water resources management program, several groups of volunteers are helping to study sections of the Primrose and Aquetong creeks, measuring stream elevation, water quality and flow, and gather other observations that help us better understand and manage this important natural resource.

Your local watershed associations are leading this effort, and they are always in need of volunteers who want to be part of this important preservation project. Volunteers receive special training and information about the water resources program. If you can make a commitment of 30 minutes every other week to helping preserve our environment, the associations listed below would be glad to hear from you...
